Chances are that if you’re reading this post, you’re a dreamer. You’ve had seeds planted in your soul with something that you felt called to do. It probably wasn’t very clear in the beginning, but over time this dream took shape and grew inside of you. These seeds started to blossom into something bigger than yourself and wouldn’t let go of you. You can’t NOT do this thing.
Backstory
This is how Bold Red Creative, LLC started for me. About five years ago, I had a little personal blog about faith, family life, and my husband’s music dreams. I thought for sure I’d be chronicling my husband’s rise to musical success in Nashville. The funny thing is that around the time I started this blog, my husband basically went on a performing hiatus of sorts. We just had our second child and we were mainly focusing on how to get through each day. The demands of life were different and he was jaded by the music business.
I still wanted to use my blog to shine a light on the inspirations of other musicians and creatives, so I started a series to do just that. I was able to meet some talented individuals and really enjoyed being able to promote their unique missions and talents. This all started turning into another dream of creating an online community of musicians who were dedicated to authenticity and building each other up. This idea was scribbled on several pages of an old 3-subject notebook, but there it sat for a couple of years until I decided to get serious about it and map out a plan.
However, in the middle of trying to make this particular dream a reality. I went on a little detour… I started to dig a little deeper with this idea. What can I offer this community? How can I really help these creatives in a tangible way if my husband’s not ready to get back into music and be a part of this? How can I help these talented artists get their message out to their audience? What will I do to make money for my family so I can devote more time to this venture?

Deciding on a Name
This cardinal and his mate became frequent visitors in our backyard starting last spring. His red color would often catch my attention whenever I glanced out a window or watered the flowers. I can’t quite explain it, but I just felt as if this little bird was inspiring me, encouraging me to move forward and have faith. This little guy gave me the motivation to keep pursuing whatever path I was going down. It was as if God had sent this beautiful bright red bird just for me. 🙂
As I started to plan my business and website, I knew I first had to come up with the name. I struggled for a couple months to find the perfect fit. I decided on incorporating “bold” as part of the name on behalf of the Holy Spirit. Approaching life with intention and purpose definitely takes boldness. We can’t be afraid to stand for something.
When it comes to raising awareness and spreading a message, it’s important to be visible and stand out. My little red cardinal friend, who always grabbed my attention when he was flying around, was of course the inspiration behind using “red” in the name. (As if you didn’t see that one coming, right?!)
So, there you have it! The story behind Bold Red Creative and what it means to “Be Bold Red!”
Know any creatives who are being “bold red?” I’d love to check out their work and possibly interview them in the future.
